We will no longer be NAWCC Chapter 50 as of January 1, 2022

I have some news to pass for our upcoming gathering in January 2022. We will no longer be NAWCC Chapter 50, the organization went into default, essentially no officers put into place to keep it running. Chapter 50 has provided 58 years of horological education to the Puget Sound region but time has changed and times are strange.

We will be a new club and no longer under the umbrella of the NAWCC.  For now we are calling ourselves The Horological Society of Puget Sound. We'll be collecting dues to support the new club and we're asking for $10, you will NOT need a NAWCC member #. The rent for the Grange is privately funded for the time being.

So what does this mean for you?

-Being a part of this club means no ties to the NAWCC, you are no longer required to pay National dues to belong here.
-We can have more choices on what we'd like to have at our Marts, vintage items not necessarily related to Horology.
-Expanding on the number of people in our club by looking outside non-horological areas.
-Growing a more diverse community of members.
-Club can be run with minimal effort, food and programs are club driven.
-Focus on a couple of all-day activities during the year for fundraising and education.
    *Silent auctions
    *Suitcase educational type seminar
*Sponsor event club sections at Antique or Horological shows

Of course "you" the new club members have the say in what we do. Some of the ideas I listed above are only suggestions so lets discuss all of this at our meeting.
