Bremerton WashingtonThe Puget Sound Navy Museum collects, preserves, and interprets the naval heritage of the Pacific Northwest for the benefit of the U.S. Navy and general public. The Museum is located at 251 1st St, Bremerton, WA 98337 is across from the Conference Center and is free of charge. The Kitsap Historical Museum mission is to collect, preserve, and exhibit the diverse culture, heritage, and history of Kitsap County for the education and enjoyment of the public. Located at 280 4th Street. Included in the Museum is the Valentinetti Puppet Museum. The Museum has two historic street clocks: one on 4th street in front of the Museum and the other on Callow Ave. The Museum also has a rare E. Howard #74 master regulator and a Seth Thomas #62 Regulator both from the Bremerton shipyard Chronometer shop. The US Turner Joy Battleship Museum is a few blocks away along the waterfront. USS Turner Joy was one of 18 Forrest Sherman-class destroyers of the United States Navy. She was named for Admiral Charles Turner Joy USN. Commissioned in 1959, she spent her entire career in the Pacific. Visiting hours are 10AM to 5PM 7 days/week. |
