Clock Repair and or Watch Repair.
Norwest School of Horology
Norwest School of Horology is a school specializing in teaching Watch Repair,
Clock repair and Micro machining parts for restoring
timepieces. Watch Repair and Clock Repair
classes are the same
classes that were formerly taught as evening classes at North
Seattle community
college (NSCC), Seattle Washington.
The school's current curriculum consists of three primary classes
teaching beginning watch repair, advanced watch repair and clock
repair. Then depending upon the need special-purpose classes are
offered from time to time. As example of one of the previous special
classes taught how to replace the balance staff in a watch.
The beginners watch repair, watchmakers class is designed to allow hobbyist,
amateurs and collectors or basically anyone with no prior knowledge of
watch repair to gain basic knowledge on watch repair.
Learning how to diagnose, disassemble clean reassemble and lubricate
watches. The purpose of the classes is to allow those that graduate to
move on to the advanced watch repair class where they will work at their own
pace on their own watches.
The advanced watch repair, watchmakers it is taught by Tom Payne a graduate of
wostep. The class is open to those who have successfully
completed the beginning class or those with some prior knowledge of
watch repair. In this class the students continue their education into
learning the repair and restoration of timepieces by following their
own path of interest and working on their own watches. This is a
nonstructured class allowing the students to work at their own pace.
The clock repair, clockmakers class is intended for anyone interested in
developing the skills needed for the repair and restoration of
timepieces. Learn how to identify and evaluate the condition of clocks
while gaining hands-on experience in actual repair work. Get old clocks
cleaned, oiled and running with individual instruction.

Norwest Voc'Tech school website.
Norwest School of Horology
On August 14, 2011 Norwest School of Horology (Norwest Voc'Tec) celebrated moving into their new
location at the shoreline center by having an open house party combined
with a National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors chapter 50 meeting. From the photographs you can see what an
incredible success the open house party is as the otherwise spacious
classroom was filled to capacity.
