NAWCC Chapter 50 Puget Sound

Pacific Northwest Catalog of Public Clocks

2014 will mark the 15th anniversary of the catalog of Washington State public clocks published by Chapter 50 and edited by the late Don Waddell of Tacoma. Members of Chap 53 and 135 contributed to this effort.  A natural extension of the Joseph Mayer Research Project would be the revision, expansion and reissue of this catalog. The catalog should be expanded to cover at least British Columbia and Oregon.  The entries should be limited to vintage (pre 1950) mechanical clocks.  Modern digital publishing tools should allow pictures of clocks and movements documenting not only the existence of a clock but some of its history.

Examples of clocks needing additional documentation and pictures include:

Lincoln Park High School tower clock corner of 37th St. and South G in Tacoma

Okanogan PUD four dial street clock probably by Joseph Mayer in Okanogan, WA

Georgetown City Hall tower clock 6202 13th Ave., S., Seattle, Washington

Condy Jeweler two dial street clock by E. Howard in Seedro Wooley, WA
